Becky Blüh’s roots are in a small hill town in Western Massachusetts, where her father’s vibrant gardens and foraging adventures instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature. This personal connection is the foundation of the brand’s commitment to natural ingredients, ethical sourcing, and sustainability.
Her journey into the world of skincare formulation began in 2011 when her daughter was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening disease called Wegener’s Granulomatosis. The disease was rapid and severe, requiring rounds of chemotherapy and a cocktail of aggressive drugs that left her daughter’s skin very dry and painfully sensitive to the touch.
Becky’s instinct was to return to her roots and craft simple, soothing balms from nourishing oils infused with healing herbs grown in the garden. She discovered that many skincare products touted as safe options actually contain complex chemicals. Aware of the fragility of the body’s immune system, especially in the case of autoimmune diseases, she realized the importance of keeping the formulas simple and pure. This was crucial for her daughter’s fragile state, utilizing only the most gentle, healing herbs and nourishing oils to soothe her tender skin.
Witnessing her daughter’s transformative improvements using the power of plants ignited a passion in Becky, leading her to advance her skills as a cosmetic formulator and deepen her understanding of the skin’s physiology. Working closely with leading natural chemists, she developed a carefully edited line of skincare products that target the signs of premature aging while protecting against environmental aggressors and oxidative stress.
